What Teachers Say
I had always danced when I was younger and I really wanted to get back into it.
I did the Stepping Out course in Arklow and I loved it. I decided I wanted to become
involved and did the teacher training course. I enjoyed the course but I really
liked the in class training. I just loved the dancing and I found I picked up something
different from all the teachers I assisted. I have now moved into the Stepping Out
head office where I work full time, but I still do my classes because I really love
teaching. The social nights are great. When you get twelve or more Stepping Out
teachers on the floor of a club all dancing our routines together, the place just
comes to a standstill.

I have been with Stepping Out right from the start. I had no formal dance training
so was very nervous but the course was really good and I knew I was really prepared
before I did my first class. I have seen the company grow from a small dance company
to what it is today. I have worked full time, went off and had my baby and now work
three nights a week. Stepping Out are very flexible and that has been brilliant
for me. I could not actually imagine a life without Stepping Out at this stage.

I had always danced. I had been an all Ireland champion ballroom dancer and had
represented Ireland in many competitions including the World Latin American and
Ballroom championship. I always wanted to work in the dance industry. To do this
I had to go to the states where I worked with the Fred Astaire dance studio. I loved
the industry but missed home. I had heard of Stepping Out while I was over there
and I applied for the teacher training course. I was accepted and returned to Ireland.
The course was brilliant, as good as, or better than anything I had seen in the
states. I love working with Stepping Out, I love teaching and I am finally able
to do what I always wanted to do where I wanted to do it.
