Inspired by the hugely successful BBC Strictly Come Dancing, we have given it our own twist, Strictly Fun Dancing. The course marries the elegance of ballroom with all the spice of Salsa. Stepping Out founder Sharon Tinkler, and the winner of Strictly Come Dancing Karen Hardy have come together to choreograph a course of your favourite Latino styles. Samba, Cha Cha Cha, Salsa and Jive are all explored during the 10 week course.
Sharon Tinkler tells us “When it came to choreographing this course the one person I really wanted to work with was Karen. Everyone knows how good a dancer Karen is, she has won just about everything including being named World Masters Champion. But what people maybe don¹t know is that Karen is also a really fabulous teacher. She has twice received the Carl Alan Teacher of the Year award. We set out to devise a beginner¹s course so people who have never done any of these dances before could come in and feel comfortable not intimidated. We wanted to make it a fun introduction rather than a very technical course. If you liked Strictly Come Dancing I think you will really love the course.”
Don't worry about needing a partner as much of the course is taught in Stepping Out line up fashion and where you need a partner your teacher will partner you up. So ladies grab your partner, pal or even your bottle of water and enjoy what we call food for the body, mind and soul.
For this class you should wear comfortable shoes and clothing. Many ladies prefer a hard soled shoe for the turns.
